Murmuration

the flock is the system.
six lanes · one channel

A browser interface for running a flock of model and API agents from one desk, with the backend on your own machine. Experimental; this page is an interactive demo of the idea.

the data

The boids are the system.

Color is lane. Density is population. Velocity is throughput. There is no chart underneath; the visualization is the interface.

The flock thinks together. It also thinks alone, when you ask it to. Watch the swarm settle when the Murmurator is idle. Watch it stream when work begins.

the routing

Six lanes. One channel.

Murmuration borrows the DAW: one lane per model class. Murmurator, Builder, Critic, Research, Edge, Local. Mute a lane. Solo it. Watch a routing decision propagate as particles flow through the active channel.

The DAW dialect, applied to thought.

the orchestration

How the flock thinks.

The Murmurator is the persistent identity. Underneath it, five routing patterns: how the work distributes, not who does it. Delegation and parallel delegation are implemented in the core today; the five named patterns below are the design vocabulary they compose into, not five separate shipped modes.

Murmuration: the default. The Murmurator leads. The flock falls in. Daily orchestration. The state of rest.
the narrative

Reasoning is type.

What each agent says as it works surfaces on the field: the text and reasoning output a provider actually exposes, not hidden model internals. Kinetic letters that dance, breathe their kerning, dissolve when the thought completes. The structured events live in the drawer for inspection. The narrative lives on the field for presence. The lettering below cycles sample phrases; it is not a live feed.

Pattern fusion of the dancing-letter pattern from travisbreaks v1 and the kerning-breath envelope from travismakes.love. Each letter has its own clock. The line as a whole pulses without ever being uniform.

the persistence

The flock remembers.

Three surfaces, each with its own lifetime. Lore is durable: observations, decisions, research, principles, ideas. Brief is the next-session handoff: one row per workstream, overwritten on every write, mirrored to disk. The Murmurator writes it by default; a sub-agent writes only when its grant explicitly includes that permission. Journal is per-turn scratchpad: captured in traces, stripped after the lane closes.

Sub-agents inherit the parent's memory by grant. Critics dedupe before flagging. Researchers catch up before they reach. Pinned principles land in every future session's prompt with hardening guards in place.

The flock thinks together. The flock also remembers what it learned.

the quiet

When you need quiet.

cmd + / hides the field. Hides the chrome. Leaves only the lane stack and plain monospace. For when the flock gets in the way of the work.

The system has its own quiet. Toggle it from the top bar (cmd+/ in the orchestrator, cmd+/ here too).

the maker

a one person system
built to monitor the agents
who will build all subsequent systems

30+ years producing and engineering
with non-linear digital recording
Murmuration takes that signal and routing experience
and cascades it across the agent swarm.
